America has always had a reputation for excess. From budget deficits to SUVs and all-you-can-eat buffets; if you can make it larger, that's how we want it.

Thankfully for super-sizers everywhere, the spirit behind that reputation has not been lost on Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in
Pennsylvania. Hungry? Order ahead for their 100-lb/45-kg burger. Of course, there's always the 6-lb/3-kg or 3-lb/1.3-kg version if you're a wimp.

Remember how much fun you had in high school? The crowded hallways, awkward moments, pop quizzes and questionable cafeteria food...

Imagine reliving it with 10 times as many classmates.

Doesn't sound like my idea of a good time, but it's an everyday reality for the nearly 25,000 students at Rizal High School in
ManilaPhilippines. I feel worst for the janitor.

The annual event is put on by
The Gorilla Organization, a London-based charity that raises funding and awareness for Mountain Gorillas in the Congo. If you want to participate, visit www.greatgorillas.org to register for the run and, of course, to get your gorilla suit.

The estate also operates a bed-and-breakfast and an on-site restaurant with an extensive wine list. To truly understand Biltmore's size it needs to be viewed at a distance. From the
Blue Ridge Parkway south of town you can see almost all 8,000 acres that comprise the estate.
